SNEAK PEAK: Pieces Styled

With the swap just two days away, we figured we'd give you ladies a sneak peak of some of the items! Below our friend, Cortney and our lovely swap coordinator, Rachel, modeled some of their favorite pieces.

For Cortney's look she styled a vintage leather turquoise skirt, a cotton peach top with an embellished front, a basic skinny yellow belt, and her own mint shoes. While those shoes are hers, we have the exact shoes in coral.

Rachel paired this lovely cotton Urban Outfitters skirt with her own basic tee. We love this look because it's simple and comfortable for summer. Rachel used the red in the flowers to match a top to bring more color and depth to the look! We have a plethora of tops just like this and basic cotton skirts for summer.

Swap Styling

330 clothing swap styling basics

It's five days and counting until the day of the swap! We're hoping that you girls are as excited as we are! Expect a lot of unique pieces that you will have to have in your closet! Worried about how to work your new, cute pieces into your wardrobe?
Don't worry! There will be a booth for alterations(so you can make that amazing skirt you just found fit your waist) and a styling station to show you how to work your new things into your closet with some classic pieces.

Pictured above is a group of classic pieces of clothing that I believe should be staples in every ones wardrobe! The majority of them are great items for year round, but a few I believe will be especially great for this summer season! Most of these items will be present at the styling station to help make your future outfits more of a reality before you commit to a piece you are unsure about.

At the station expect the classics, such as: a pair of denim jeans, a blazer, a basic white and black tee, a black and white striped top, a black pencil skirt, and a pair of black and brown shoes. Each of these items can be switched in and out of almost every outfit you can make, so that right there is already a few outfits in itself. The brown and black shoes are just a couple classics I will be bringing, but I will encourage you to use your imagination for what shoes you can pair with any outfit.

As for the rest of the items I am choosing especially for your summer wardrobe are: a pair of denim shorts to pair with most tops and jackets, a floral scarf to add color and pattern to any outfit( the floral doesn't have to be a scarf, you can play around with other floral accessories like belts and shoes), a bright colored blouse and skirt, as well as a bright colored hand bag to summer-up your wardrobe. Also expect an assortment of belts to help show you different silhouettes for your new clothes.

The styling station will be there to help you enhance the amzing things that you find at the swap, but dont forget about everything else this coming Sunday has to offer! Get excited for a few amazing vendors and services provided by the MC, and dont forget about the treats provided for you by Earth Fair and your gift bags!

Fives days left! Get excited and we look forward to seeing all of you!

A Sneak Peak..

It was great to meet some of you at MC on Friday! The first drop-off was a big success!

About a month ago I moved into a house that has this lovely attic space - perfect for swap clothes sorting! Tomorrow night, the swap team will have our first clothes organizing party .. we can't wait!

I was anxious to get started, so got a little head start on the sorting :

I got some pretty ribbon to separate the clothes:

I decided to utilize any extra space to fold & organize - even the TV stand!

We still have a lot to go through:

There were some really great items dropped off on Friday, you ladies have been very generous!

Don't forget, if you know anyone who wants to attend the swap, the last day to sign up is this Thursday, May 3rd. The next drop off date is this Friday, May 4th at my house here in Highland Square (you'll get directions when you confirm). You can also arrange another pick-up or drop-off if you need to - get in touch with us: 330swapshop@gmail.com

Can't wait to get the swap team together tomorrow to go through the rest of the clothes!

Shop Blogger Closets : Rachel from For the Birds

Hello! I'm Rachel from For the Birds and I am so excited to be part of this awesome Swap & Shop event! I think it's such a fun idea and I've really loved collaborating with the other girls to pull it all together. With the first drop-off day coming up on April 27th, it's time to start thinking about what you want to swap.

The other day I decided to get real with myself and do a big closet clean-out. On my blog I wrote about my tough love tips for an organized closet if you think you need some tough love yourself.

After you've gone through your closet and decided what you want to keep, decide what is "swap-worthy". A good rule I heard from someone at our last swap meeting is : if you would lend it to a friend, it's swap-worthy. Old workout clothes, stained or torn clothes should be donated to a charitable organization such as Goodwill.

Here are some of the items I'll be swapping in May:

I have two short skirts that are so cute. One is an awesome Lauren Conrad skirt with a tie-bow on the side and black lace on the bottom. The other is an amazing colorful NOTO skirt that I really love. However, I had to get really honest with myself - I'm not a short skirt girl. I always end up feeling uncomfortable in them.

This is an Ann Taylor Loft skirt that I also love, but it just doesn't fit me correctly. Your gain!

This is a DKNY dress I've only worn a handful of times. I really like it but I'm bored with it now.. again, your gain :)

Thanks for checking out my little preview, I can't wait to see your items for the swap!
